History. How is it possible, that I had not heard of this expedition, it's results, it's contribution to the Smithsonian and by:   Sea of Glory is an engrossing depiction of danger, bravery, cruelty and, perhaps, even madness.

A worthy follow-up to In the Heart of the Sea, Philbrick's latest is a fascinating look at a long-forgotten piece of American maritime history. His previous book "Heart of the Sea" was a bit more gripping (albeit more harsh), but "Sea of Glory" is a very good book by a great historical writer.
